High precision and quality mechanical shaft seal made from a combination of 316 stainless steel and graphite, designed for easy installation and maintenance. The mechanical seal functions through the perfect junction between the stainless steel ring and the graphite part. The stainless steel ring is mounted with headless screws on the shaft, allowing it to rotate with the shaft, while the graphite part remains stationary on the shaft seal. This mechanical shaft seal can be directly mounted on a sterntube with a rubber sleeve secured by clamps. The standard size for the rubber sleeve is 87 mm, but with appropriate reducers, the mechanical seal can also be fitted on sterntubes of 70 mm or 2½” and 3”. It can be complemented with a wall-mounted bronze shaft seal adapter that includes a water-lubricated bearing (see codes 4900635<>4900680).
