High precision and quality mechanical shaft seal made of combined 316 stainless steel and graphite, designed for easy installation and maintenance. The mechanical seal operates through the perfect junction between the stainless steel ring and the graphite component. The stainless steel ring is attached with headless screws on the shaft (therefore it rotates with the shaft), while the graphite part remains stationary on the shaft seal. These mechanical shaft seals can be directly installed on a sterntube with a rubber sleeve secured using clamps. The standard attachment size of the rubber sleeve for sterntubes is 87 mm, but with the use of reductions, the mechanical seal can also be mounted on sterntubes with sizes 70 mm, 2½ inches, or 3 inches. It can be paired with a wall-mounted bronze shaft seal adapter that includes a water-lubricated bearing (see codes 4900635<>4900680).
