High precision and quality mechanical shaft seal made from a combination of 316 Stainless Steel and Graphite, designed for easy installation and maintenance. The mechanical seal is achieved through the perfect connection between the Stainless Steel ring and the Graphite component. The Stainless Steel ring is affixed with headless screws to the shaft, allowing it to rotate with the shaft, while the Graphite part remains stationary on the shaft seal. This mechanical shaft seal can be directly installed on the sterntube with a rubber sleeve secured by clamps. The standard size for the rubber sleeve sterntube is 87 mm, but using adapters, the mechanical seal can also fit sterntubes of 70 mm or sizes 2½” and 3”. It can be complemented with a wall-mounted bronze shaft seal adapter that includes a water-lubricated bearing (see codes 4900635<>4900680).
