Brass Bearing for 120 mm Shaft (External 6" 1/8)

Our water-lubricated shaft bearings are engineered with a metric inner diameter and an imperial outer diameter. These bearings feature a robust brass housing combined with an internal rubber component that includes axial channels. This unique combination of rubber and water creates an optimal bearing material and lubricant.

The natural resilience of rubber ensures excellent impact absorption and vibration damping capabilities, enhancing the overall performance of the Aqualube bearing.

Unlike many other bearings available on the market, Aqualube bearings are specifically designed to generate a hydraulic wedge of water between the shaft and the bearing, even at low shaft speeds. Water serves as an exceptional lubricant for marine applications due to its abundance, incompressibility, cooling properties, and low friction coefficient when interacting with the bearing strip and the shaft.

Water enters the bearing through longitudinal grooves, forming a thin film that moves radially between the propeller shaft and the face of the bearing. Once this film, or wedge, is established, the shaft does not directly contact the bearing.

The naval or metallic brass bearing features a precision-machined and polished brass outer shell for easy installation. A specially formulated nitrile rubber, resistant to oil and chemicals, is firmly bonded to the housing. For smaller vessels, we offer units with thinner housings suitable for supports.

Shaft Diameter: 120 mm

Installation typically involves a light press fit, secured in place with tapered locking screws.

Marine Benefits:

  • Durable brass construction for long-lasting performance
  • Excellent vibration dampening for a smoother operation
  • Effective water lubrication enhances cooling and reduces wear
  • Designed for easy installation on various marine applications

Elevate your vessel's performance with Aqualube bearings, specifically designed to thrive in demanding marine environments.
